2 weeks to go!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for taking time to check out my blog. I will be using it to keep everyone updated on my travels abroad this summer!

In two weeks, I will be getting on an airplane (for the second time in my whole life...) to head for Tel Aviv, Israel. I will spend two weeks there working on an archeological dig site in Jerusalem with other people from the Levine Scholars Program and students from UNC Charlotte and other colleges. Now, I'm a nursing major so digging in the dirt is not really my thing, but the idea of going to Jerusalem was something that I could not pass up. Also, people in the past have found coins at the dig site that have the face of Pontius Pilate on them. That is beyond cool to me. While is Israel, we will also be seeing many of the sites there so I will be blogging about that as well as the dig.

After those two weeks are up, I will be boarding another plane to head to Mongolia. Yep, Mongolia. It's between China and Russia for people who are trying to figure out where it is. I get that question alot when I tell people I'm going. I will be living with a local family and working with midwives in the local hospital. This is definitely a more pre-professional volunteer opportunity and I am very excited. It is going to be a crazy experience and I plan on documenting as much as I can.

This is all for now, but I will be preparing and packing like a maniac for the next two weeks. Thank you for checking in and I cannot wait to share my adventures with you!
